Mother's Day Project

For Mother's Day Ryan said we could go buy new bushes and plants to put in my front flower bed. My ones I had there just never did very good, so it was looking a little bare. I was so excited! We bought 3 bushes to go in front and a lilac bush to put in the back yard. Then the work began. I have always wanted a little bricked wall to separate my flower bed. Before I had the bushes in the back and a rock border splitting down the middle. I plant flowers in front of that. It looked okay, but I thought it would be fun if we could put the wall in and heighten the back a little. So we looked at landscaping bricks while shopping for the bushes. Wow, they are not cheap. But then we found just what I wanted on clearance at Home Depot. We came home and got to work first ripping out the old rock border and then the old bushes and plants. I had hostas and a bleeding heart bush that I salvaged and was to replant. We hauled in dirt from the garden to heighten the back and then put in our wall. I love how it turned out. I can't wait for the bushes to get big enought to really show off. Thank you Ryan for the plants and all the hard work getting it to look great. Here is the finished look.

My flowers show off so much better in front of the wall. I can't wait to get more planted after the tulips are done.

For Mother's Day our cute cheerleaders do this flower fundraiser. The sell them to the husbands and come stake them in your yard Sunday morning. It is one of my favorite things. Aren't they cute?? These ones really had lots of effort put into them to make them extra cute. I love it.
