Easter Weekend

We had such a good Easter weekend. It was good to have a few days off from school and work. We got to hang out at home and got a lot done. We got peas and radishes planted in our garden, and hopefully it will grow as well as it did last year. The Easter Bunny came to our house on Saturday, so we could have Sunday to focus on the Savior and the true meaning of Easter. The kids were so excited for the Easter Bunny to come. I thought it was very appropriate fast Sunday was on Easter this year. I was grateful for the opportunity to reflect on the Savior's sacrifice for us during testimony meeting. We are so blessed to have the knowledge of the gospel and the atonement in our lives. My testimony and love of the Savior was stregthened and I feel renewed strength to take on life's everyday responsibilities. That is part of what Easter is all about-new beginnings and rebirth. Here are a few pictures of our great weekend.

The kids were very excited to see what the Easter Bunny left for them in their baskets. He even came through the rain and hid their eggs outside. It was a very cold morning hunting eggs, but the kids didn't care.

Every Easter we have a BBQ at my grandpa's house with all my dad's family. We always have such a good time getting together and being able to visit. It is fun for the kids to play with cousins they don't get to see very often. I think us older cousins have as much fun as the little kids do as well. We love a good party!

We always have a big Easter egg hunt after dinner. You are allowed to hunt until you have kids of your own. The kids always come home with a load of treats and this year was no different. Since it was raining so badly we decided to have our Easter egg hunt trunk or treat style in Grandpa's garage. It turned out really well. The kids came away with tons of goodies and a few dollars each from the money eggs.

Look What I Can Do!!

Harbor was so thrilled with herself the other day when she figured out how to blow a bubble. I love a child's excitement when they have learned something new. Her eyes sparkled with wonder and excitement at her new talent. It was so funny to watch her concentrate so hard and blowing that bubble. Once she did her eyes got wider and wider the bigger the bubble grew. Then she would grin from ear to ear after it popped and say, "Man, that was a big one." It was the best thing in the world to her. I love all the new things she is learning to do. It makes me a little sad that she is growing up so much, but I am very much enjoying watching her.

Dance Recital

Hailey and Harbor had their dance recital a few weeks ago. It is always so fun to see what they have learned. Harbor had two dances-a ballet and a tap. This was her first year of dance and she loved every minute of it. Her weeks revolved around dance. Each day she would ask me how many more days until dance.We would countdown every day and start over the next week. The recital was icing on the cake. What little girly girl doesn't love to get all dressed up in a pretty dress, have her hair done, and even have on a little makeup. She looked so sweet in her costume and did very well. Hailey had three dances-ballet, jazz, and tap. She had costume changes for each one and also did very well. She has taken dance for a few years and has done well with it. I think this will be her last year though. Sports seem to be more her forte and we just can't have her involved in everything. I wish we could but time and money just don't allow it. I am so proud of how the girls did. They both looked so beautiful in their costumes and danced equally beautiful. I love these girls!!
